Founded in 2012 by Joey and Vicki Ashley, The Organic Bedroom was created out of frustration with the lack of transparency in traditional mattress stores. In 2018, Raleigh native Matt Durbin took over the business and has continued that mission: to help people understand what’s in their mattress—and to help them choose better.
Matt is a father of two, a Georgia Tech-trained engineer, and holds an MBA from NC State. After years in the tech world working with multinational clients, he shifted his focus to help people improve their health and wellbeing through better sleep. His hands-on, customer-first approach drives everything we do at The Organic Bedroom.
